Police charge two over eBay sales

Two people from north Devon have been charged over eBay sales of property allegedly stolen from shops across the South West.

A man and woman from Barnstaple were charged with offences including money laundering, conspiracy to steal, theft and possession of cocaine.

The charges follow joint investigations by police and the online auction site.

The 38-year-old man and 24-year-old woman will appear before Barnstaple Magistrates on 11 July.

It is alleged items worth tens of thousands of pounds, including computer software, electrical goods and cosmetics, were stolen from retail stores across the South West and then sold on eBay by what appeared to be genuine traders.
