Pasty firm given health approval

A leading health expert says pasty company Ginsters in Cornwall is an example of a workplace where staff are encouraged to stay fit and healthy.

Dame Carol Black, national director for Health and Work, visited the firm's Callington site on Tuesday.

Ginsters has an on-site fitness suite, and about 15 fitness-based activities take place regularly.

Dame Carol recommended Ginsters policy in a review of the health of the working age population.

Ginsters say their productivity is up, their sick leave is at an all-time low and the numbers going off on long-term sick is falling fast too.
