A businessman who was shot by attackers on the doorstep of his home has been moved to a secret location.

Mr Pester's new location has been kept secret and it is not known whether he was well enough to leave hospital.

During the attack he was pistol-whipped and shot in the stomach.

He runs a car dealership in the Mutley area of Plymouth and neighbours said the home he shares with his wife, son and daughter, has been broken into on a number of occasions.

Police said "high-value" jewellery was stolen during the confrontation, including two gold Rolex watches and a number of women's rings.

Det Supt Steve Carey from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We continue to take this incident very seriously and have around 60 officers still working on the investigation."
