Murder inquiry after body found

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead at a block of flats in Devon.

Emergency services were called to the property in Torquay on Tuesday night where officers discovered the man, who had suffered knife injuries.

Police sealed off the property in Pendennis Road. The victim has been identified as a 53-year-old local man.

A 40-year-old man from Torquay has been arrested and is being questioned by police in connection with the death.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out and the victim's next-of-kin are being contacted.

Det Supt John Clements from Devon and Cornwall Police is appealing for information from anyone who may have noticed anything unusual around the block of flats on Monday and Tuesday.
