Two people rescued from boat fire

Coastguards have coordinated the rescue of two people after an engine fire on a motor cruiser off the Devon coast.

The vessel raised the alarm at about 1425 BST when a fault developed in one of its twin engines about three miles south east of the Great Mewstone.

Plymouth's all-weather lifeboat towed the cruiser to Plymouth Sound, where it was met by Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service's fireboat.

Neither of the boat's two occupants were injured.
