Arrests after car crime operation

Two people have been arrested in Devon following a crackdown on car crime by police on Dartmoor.

An automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) intercept team tried to stop a Vauxhall Cavalier in Yelverton but it made off and was later found abandoned.

It is thought it had been taken without consent. A man and woman were arrested in connection with the incident.

Police said four other vehicles were seized during the operation because the drivers had no insurance.
