Teenagers create community murals

Teenagers are tackling graffiti and painting new murals in an effort to increase community spirit.

Young offenders have cleaned walls at two blocks of flats in the Devonport area of Plymouth in preparation for the new artwork.

The murals will be designed and painted by students from the city's art college with help from local residents.

Police Community Support Officer Phil Strong said: "We are encouraging youngsters to take responsibility."
