Motorbiker, 85, dies after crash
Police in Devon have named an 85-year-old motorcyclist who died after coming off his bike.

Emergency services were called to the A380 at Kingskerswell on Thursday at about 1520 GMT.

Officers said they believed John Hawkins, from Kingskerswell, struck a bollard prior to losing control of his white Honda motorcycle.

Mr Hawkins was taken to Torbay Hospital with serious injuries but was later pronounced dead.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, including vehicles which passed by the motorcycle which was travelling towards Torquay.

The Torquay-bound carriageway was closed for just over six hours following the accident so collision investigators could carry out an examination of the scene.
