Plan to boost city cruise visits
Plymouth Hoe
Plymouth is expecting 12 cruise liners this year
Efforts are being made to make Plymouth more attractive to cruise liners.

The city is lagging behind other ports when it comes to ships coming alongside in the next 12 months.

Figures detailing how many cruise liners visiting the region's ports show Falmouth is set to receive 54 liners, while Plymouth will get just 12.

The statistics come from Destination SouthWest, an organisation trying to encourage more cruise liners to visit the region.

Destination SouthWest director Bob Harrison is to visit the US at the end of the month in an effort to promote more interest in cruises visiting Plymouth.
