The zoo has 80 African penguins
Penguins at a Devon zoo are turning their noses up at a free offer for visitors to the attraction.

While anyone visiting Torquay's Living Coasts over the Christmas period is being given a free mince pie, the zoo's penguins were not tempted.

"The penguins didn't want to know," said Living Coasts's Phil Knowling. "They'd probably prefer fish cakes."

The zoo, which is home to about 80 African penguins, is also holding a range of "green" Christmas events.
