Murder retrial ordered by judge
A Devon jury which failed to reach a verdict in the case of a Sardinian chef accused of murdering his wife's lover, has been discharged.

Francesco Matta, 56, from Cagliari in Sardinia, had pleaded not guilty to the murder of Flt Lt Stephen Keen, 54, in Tiverton on 6 July last year.

The panel of nine women and three men at Exeter Crown Court started to consider the evidence eight days ago.

A retrial will be held and reporting restrictions have been imposed.
