Live stream trial for police cams
Policeman with headcam
Police in Plymouth have already trialled headcams
Police officers on Plymouth's streets will be beaming live images back to a control centre in the city for the first time.

The wireless body-cam system is similar to the headcams trialled by police in Plymouth earlier in the year.

The new camera is shoulder-mounted, with a lightweight pack worn on the back which stores data.

The images are then sent back to a temporary police command centre which has been set up for the weekend trial.

The system is being tested on Saturday and Sunday for use at football matches and policing busy city centre areas during the evening.

"Within Plymouth we place great importance in assessing how we can best serve the communities and continue in the same innovative way that we have with head cameras and the positive impact that this is having within Plymouth," said Acting Sgt Zoe Bateman.
