Forgetful mother in lottery win
Janet and Nick Baddick
Mrs Baddick plans to continue working
A Devon mother's absent-mindedness over her son's age has resulted in a lottery win of nearly £1.3m.

Janet Baddick, 49, from Braunton, forgot to update one of her regular Lotto numbers from 26 to 27, after her son Darren's recent birthday.

She won a £1,298,223 share of the jackpot when her old numbers came up.

Mrs Baddick said she always changed her lottery numbers after birthdays, but for once had forgotten. "Thank goodness I didn't," she said.

She collected her cheque on Monday.

No decisions

She said: "I got the numbers up and simply couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was speechless, it still hasn't sunk in even now."

Mrs Baddick plans to continue her work as a pharmaceutical technical assistant.

"We are not going to make any definite decisions on the money yet," she said.
