'Coffee cop-shops' idea takes off
Axminster Police are to run "coffee cop-shops" at several coffee houses in the town on market days, after a successful trial in the summer.

Sgt David Sheldrake said: "We have tried larger meetings to consult with the public, but Axminster folk like the informality of 'coffee shop' drop-ins.

"Local cafe owners have been very helpful and we are grateful to them for the use of their premises."

The idea is part of the Neighbourhood Team's efforts to be more accessible.

Coffee houses in Axminster taking part in the hour-long sessions on various market days until the end of the year are Trinity House Coffee Shop and Archway, River Cottage and Route 66 cafes.
