Scavengers descended on the beach after the Napoli was grounded
|
Devon villagers near where the stricken container ship MSC Napoli was beached, have won nearly £3,000 Lottery cash to record their experiences.
The Branscombe Project aims to collect and record the many different feelings that the event in January generated.
The beaching was followed by scavenging of washed up goods and pollution that made headlines around the world.
A DVD and an art installation made from some of the debris will then form an exhibition in the village.
The award of £2,680 was amongst a total of £698,842 being distributed to 109 groups across the South West by the Big Lottery Fund for good causes.
Other groups to benefit include Truro Fencing Club, which gets £5,689 to run free introductory sessions to children from five to 16.
