Bright spark wins firework event
British Firework Championships, Plymouth
The two-day firework competition attracted thousands of spectators
The 11th British Firework Championship, held in Plymouth, Devon, has been won by the Selstar Fireworks group.

Wet weather failed to stop large crowds turning up to view the annual pyrotechnic display.

Selstar, which is based near Chichester, was the last to launch its display on Wednesday night.

Thousands of people lined vantage points around Plymouth Sound on both nights to watch competitors in the championships.

Six professional firework companies competed in the contest, each putting on a 10-minute display.
