Counterfeit notes seized in jail
Officers at a Devon jail have foiled an attempt to smuggle forged bank notes into the jail.

Prison officials believe the counterfeit notes seized at HMP Exeter would have been used to pay for contraband goods, including drugs.

The bank notes were said to be of high quality, but the watermark was different to genuine currency.

Governor Mark Flinton said the prison service took any attempt to smuggle contraband extremely seriously.

In a statement, Mr Flinton said the service would "seek convictions against any individuals making such attempts".
