Missing holidaymaker search ends
Rescue teams have called off their search for a man who went missing from cliffs while on a holiday fishing trip in Cornwall.

The 50-year-old man from Leicestershire did not return from fishing between Treyarnon Bay and Porthcothan Bay near Newquay on Saturday evening.

A rescue helicopter and Newquay and Padstow lifeboats failed to find the man on Saturday night and Sunday.

The weather on Saturday night was light sea with good visibility.

Coastguards said the search would not be resumed unless there was any new information on the man who has not been named.

He is described as white, 5ft 8in tall, of slim to medium build with short grey hair and clean shaven.

He was wearing a navy and purple shower proof coat, green Land Rover baseball cap and was carrying fishing gear and a grey tool box.
