Motorway crash woman 'critical'
A woman is in a critical condition in hospital following a serious crash which closed the M5 in Devon on Friday.

The accident on the northbound carriageway near Cullompton, between junctions 28 and 29, involved a MGF car and a BMW car at about 1700 BST.

A 29-year-old local woman was airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, then transferred to Derriford Hospital's neurology unit in Plymouth.

The motorway was closed for about four hours and reopened at about 2100 BST.

Police have described the woman's condition as critical and life- threatening and are appealing for witnesses.
