Hospital reviews patients' safety
Torbay Hospital has been chosen to lead the way in a new initiative aimed at improving patient safety.

The hospital will receive more than £300,000 to work with safety experts from America to improve their systems and try to reduce medical mistakes.

The hospital is one of 10 in England taking part in the scheme run by charity The Health Foundation.

The Foundation says the NHS could save £2bn by reducing the time patients spend in hospital and legal claims.

The charity says it chose Torbay because it was impressed by its commitment to patient safety.
