Man charged with school pupil sex
Buckfast Abbey Boarding School
The allegations span a period of 13 years at the school
A former member of staff at a Devon school has been charged with indecently assaulting ex-pupils.

William Patrick Manahan, 79, of Buckfastleigh, has been charged with 19 offences of indecent assault between 1968 and 1981 at Buckfast Abbey School.

He has been released on bail and is due to appear before Totnes Magistrates' Court on 14 November.

Police have appealed for former pupils to contact them if they attended the school between 1968 and 1981.

The school closed in 1994.

Police said he was the second former staff member to be charged with sex offences.

No other former staff members were being investigated.
