Girl, 11, hit in face by firework
An 11-year-old girl from north Devon is being treated for facial burns after a firework shot into a kitchen on Bonfire Night.

The girl, from Bideford, was taken to Bristol's Frenchay Hospital after the accident. Her condition is not life-threatening.

Meanwhile, fire crews were called to about 140 incidents during the night.

The service said most of the incidents related to bonfires being too close to buildings or left unattended.

The fire service was called to several areas around the county, including Plymouth, Paignton, Torquay, Exeter, Dawlish and Bideford.
