Family mourn 'well-loved' Lewis
Lewis Brook
Lewis would have followed in his father's footsteps
A seven-year-old Devon boy crushed under farm machinery would have taken over the farm, his family said.

Lewis Brook died under a roller attached to a tractor believed to have been operated by a family member at Mount Pleasant Farm near Winkleigh.

Police and the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the incident on Saturday afternoon.

Mother Cathryn, and father Graham, said Lewis was a "well-loved lad" who was always helping on the farm.

Lewis, who attended Winkleigh Primary School, was freed from the machinery by emergency services, but was pronounced dead at the scene.

The family said in a statement: "We are sure he would have followed in his dad's and granddad's footsteps as he lived for the farm.

Lewis was enthusiastic to take over the farm said his family
"He was enthusiastic to take over the business when he grew old enough, being the fifth generation who worked on the farm."

They added: "The farm will carry on but we have lost some of the drive and focus that Lewis gave us."

A friend of the family, Deanne Whittaker said: "Lewis's family are a lovely, quiet Christian family and Lewis was just a normal, happy, gorgeous little boy."
