A 20-month-old girl is recovering in hospital in Devon after she was attacked by a pet labrador.
The attack happened on Friday afternoon when the dog was being supervised in the rear garden of a house in Woodbury.
The girl suffered head injuries which were described as "serious but not life threatening" by a spokesman from Devon and Cornwall Police.
The girl is being treated at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital. The dog has now been destroyed.
"The owner of the dog, who is known to the family involved, has arranged for the dog to be destroyed," the spokesman said.
