Arrest over police website hack
Hacked police website
The force's homepage was replaced during the breach
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the hacking of Devon and Cornwall Police's website.

The breach replaced the homepage with a page saying "hacked" on 30 June and took the service offline.

The breach hit other force websites including the Safety Camera Partnership and the Police Authority.

A 17-year-old from London arrested on suspicion of an offence under the Computer Misuse Act has been bailed to reappear before police on 31 August.

A force spokesman said secure systems within the force, such as command and control had not been affected.

Confidential and personal information could not be unlawfully accessed.
