An RAF Chivenor helicopter took one of the injured men to hospital
Three men were injured when they were thrown out of their speedboat in a collision with a stationary cabin cruiser in Devon.

One of the men received serious head injuries in the collision at Dittisham on the River Dart on Monday night.

Coastguards scrambled ambulances, lifeboats and a helicopter from RAF Chivenor following the incident shortly after midnight.

No arrests were made and investigations were continuing.

Airlifted to hospital

Coastguards called in Torbay shore and all-weather lifeboats as well as the rescue helicopter after an emergency call from someone who saw the incident.

Two people on the speedboat were picked up by the crew of the yacht Bare Poles, while a third man hung onto the other boat involved in the collision.

A local man who suffered head and face injuries was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, while the two others were taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital.
