Teenager impaled on fence spike
A 16-year-old holidaymaker is recovering in hospital after becoming impaled on a wooden fence at a Cornish seaside resort.

The fence spike had got stuck in his chest as he tried to jump over it at Headland Road, Newquay.

He was found with the spike at an angle going towards his shoulder late on Saturday night.

He is reported to be in a serious, but stable condition at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
