Hacker breaks into police website
Hacked police website
The force's homepage was replaced
A computer hacker has breached the Devon and Cornwall Police website.

Technical staff discovered the breach, which replaced the homepage with a page saying "hacked", on Friday morning and took the service offline immediately.

Officers have reassured the public that no information on the website was of a confidential nature.

The force said that operational command and control systems had not been affected and that technical staff were working to rectify the problem.
