Aerospace business park planned
Airbus A380
Parts for aircraft including the A380 could be built at the park
A firm has unveiled plans for a one-stop shop for manufacturing parts for commercial airlines in Devon.

Aerospace firm Hymec has bought land off the A38 at Bickington, near Newton Abbot, for the new manufacturing site.

The Plymouth-based firm plans to invest about £2.5m in the development, which could create up to 250 jobs.

Hymec has yet to apply for planning permission, and has been in talks with Teignbridge District Council for several years over the proposal.

The firm said several other firms are interested in taking part in the project. The business park could manufacture all kinds of parts for the aircraft industry, including the new Airbus A380.

Hymec Industries and Teignbridge District Council came to an impasse over the plans last year over building on green land.
