Four rescued from electrical fire

Four people were rescued from a fire in a flat in Guernsey.

Fire crews were called to the property on Sausmarez Street in St Peter Port just after 0300 GMT on Monday.

The four occupants were then led out of the smoke-filled flat by emergency crews. There were no reports of any serious injuries.

It is believed the fire started in the hall of the building after an electrical fault. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
