A late night "safe haven" is to operate in a Devon holiday resort during the Easter holidays.
The project is also expected to run over the busy summer months
Torbay Council has confirmed the Stay Safe project will operate on the harbourside in Torquay.
It follows a successful pilot scheme at Christmas which helped young people who were injured, unwell, or suffering the effects of drink or drugs.
An ambulance and support vehicle will be used for several weekends over the Easter period.
The council said a special bus will come into service during the summer months which will act as a base and a minor injuries clinic.
The project will be run by 30 volunteers, but Torbay Council would like to increase the pool of volunteers to about 50.
Anyone who is interested in becoming involved in the Stay Safe project should contact the council.
