Officers from Devon and Cornwall Police have travelled to Birmingham to interview a woman who claimed she killed a terminally-ill relative.
Maureen Messent, 67, was arrested and questioned on Thursday over claims she killed her aunt with a morphine overdose in Devon in the 1960s.
She was bailed to return to a West Midlands police station on 23 June.
A police spokesperson said police will now consult the Crown Prosecution Service as to the next step.
