Hospital wards reopen after virus
A Devon hospital is due to reopen fully after a winter bug infected wards.

Torbay Hospital stopped admitting new patients to three wards after an outbreak of suspected winter vomiting virus at the start of the week.

One ward has been reopened and another was being cleaned on Thursday in order to admit new patients by the weekend.

A spokeswoman said the hospital remained on high alert for cases of diarrhoea or vomiting and the remaining ward should open on Monday.

The South Devon Healthcare NHS Trust said: "Once again, the hospital extends its sincere thanks to everyone who has heeded the plea to think twice about visiting the wards, helping to minimise the risk of the bug being brought in to the hospital again."
