Social services have said they are working closely with a family in Devon after a 13-year-old gave birth to a baby girl.
The schoolgirl was formerly in the care of Torbay Council in South Devon and is now believed to back with her parents after giving birth at the weekend.
A council spokesman said they would ensure she had the necessary support.
Torbay is one of the government's targeted areas for extra funding to cut the number of teenage pregnancies.
The multi-agency partnership aims to halve the number of teenage conceptions in South Devon by 2010.
