Police investigating the death of a biker in south Devon in a suspected hit-and-run have said the rider was hit by a vehicle after an initial incident.
Nicholas Allan Chudley, 31, from Newton Abbot, was found on the A383 near Bickington on Sunday night.
The road was treated as a crime scene and closed for several hours on Monday morning to gather evidence.
Officers have also renewed their appeal for two drivers believed to have been in the area to come forward.
Leaving scene
Police said that results from a forensic post-mortem examination revealed how he had been hit by a vehicle.
Officers want to speak to two drivers believed to have been in the area at the time of the incident at about 2235 BST on Sunday.
The first vehicle is described as a dark coloured saloon car, the driver of which stopped at the scene and spoke to witnesses but left prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
Police said there may have been some reason he left the scene, but that they urgently needed to speak to him.
A lorry driver stopped his vehicle at the scene to assist. Whilst he was positioning his vehicle to illuminate the scene, a small white or light-coloured hatchback-type vehicle drove through the scene towards Newton Abbot.
Police said although it was possible that the driver may not have been aware of the presence of the motorcyclist in the road, officers still want to talk to the car's driver.
