Biker death suspected hit-and-run
The death of a motorcyclist in south Devon is being investigated as a fatal hit-and-run collision.

The incident happened on the A383 near Bickington on Sunday night, when the male rider of the bike was heading in the direction of Newton Abbot.

The man, who was riding a blue Yamaha motorcycle, was believed to be local.

The road was treated as a crime scene closed for several hours on Monday morning to gather evidence. Police also searched woods adjoining the scene.

Car appeals

A post-mortem examination has been arranged for Monday afternoon.

Officers have appealed for witnesses with any information about the incident which happened at about 2235 BST on Sunday to come forward.

In particular they want to talk to a man driving a dark coloured saloon car that stopped at the scene.

They also wish to speak to the occupants of a small, light coloured hatchback being driven towards Newton Abbot which passed the scene shortly after the collision occurred.
