Anger about bus route cut plans
The planned cut of a number of bus services in Plymouth has provoked an angry reaction from some residents who say vulnerable people will suffer.

Plymouth CityBus services being cut from next Saturday include the 32 and 33 in Beacon Park, as well as the 27 and 27A routes in Eggbuckland.

Citybus says the routes in question are no longer commercially viable.

But protesters say the vulnerable and elderly will have to make longer journeys to use basic amenities.

They argue that trips to places such as the doctors or chemists will become much more complicated for those who rely on such facilities more.

Protesters have written to CityBus and also to the city council, which is currently carrying out a review of transport.

It is hoped the review may come up with some long-term solutions to the problems.
