The death of a farmer who fell into a slurry pit in Devon may be investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.
Police say the 64-year-old was cleaning an inspection chamber of the slurry pit at Abbotsham near Bideford on Sunday morning when the accident happened.
Devon Fire Service pulled the farmer, who has not been named, from the pit and he was airlifted to hospital where he died on Monday morning.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
