Van crashes into side of cottage

A family in a Devon cottage escaped injury after a van crashed into the side of the building.

The accident happened in Avonwick, near South Brent.

The van driver, a 21-year-old woman from Plymouth, has been taken to Derriford Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be serious.

Builders have been called to make sure the building's structure is safe before the vehicle is removed. The road is partially blocked.

Police said they were informed of the crash at about 0620 GMT on Tuesday.

The driver received lacerations to her forehead, grazing to her knee and an ankle injury.
