Police warn over 'bilking' guest

Bed and breakfast owners in east Devon are being warned to be on the look out for a guest who disappears without paying his bills.

Police say they think the man is responsible for a number of so-called 'bilking' offences, most recently in Beer on Thursday morning.

Police say his description matches a man thought to have committed similar offences in Cornwall earlier this month

He is in his 50s, about 6ft 2in with grey and white thinning hair.

He left the Beer bed and breakfast without speaking to the owner and left a bag on his bed containing a towel and a few personal items.
