Christmas tree 'needle' challenge

There is a lot of clicking going on in north Devon as enthusiasts prepare for a rather unusual charity challenge.

As part of National Knitting Week, knitters in Devon are aiming to break the record for the largest knitted Christmas tree.

More than 3,000 leaves have already been cast on, knitted, purled and cast off for the project which will benefit Help the Aged.

The completed tree will go on display at the Atlantic Village near Bideford.
