Two experts have been appointed to reduce the difficulties faced by some South West companies trading abroad.
A survey of 8,500 South West businesses trading overseas showed almost 50% felt they had run into a language barrier.
The South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) has taken on Professor David Head and Dr Jacquie Hope of the Plymouth Business School.
It is hoped their language skills and cultural expertise will help businesses maximise their opportunities abroad.
