4,000 mile challenge for charity
Old Devon Air Ambulance
The trip will raise money for the air ambulance and a cancer charity
Two charity fundraisers are to compete in the Plymouth to Dakar Rally this year in an ambulance.

They will be raising money for Devon Air Ambulance.

Katherine Allen and Kerron Brown aim to complete the 4,000 miles from Plymouth to Dakar in a vehicle donated by Westcountry Ambulance Services.

The pair hope to raise about £5,000. Mr Brown was flown by the medical helicopter from Ottery St Mary after breaking his back 11 years ago.

The couple are also raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Traditionally after the race all vehicles are auctioned in Gambia and the ambulance, packed with medical supplies and equipment, will go to the most needy hospital.
