A 24-hour security operation to protect a seal pup born on a south Devon beach has proved successful.
The seal pup was born two weeks ago
The seal was born two weeks ago at the public beach but its location was kept a secret for mother and pup's safety.
On Thursday the seal pup finally took to the water watched by 60 members of the public.
Experts say because the seal was born on the beach it is likely to remain nearby and could be a regular attraction for years to come.
