Thousands are set to descend on Westpoint near Exeter for this year's Devon County Show.
About 80,000 people attended the 2003 show over three days
Staff have spent the week preparing the showground for the influx of visitors to the largest event in the Devon calendar
The show is also the first major county event of the year in England and is spread over 93 acres.
On Wednesday night a special service was held to bless the animals taking part in the show.
The event is described as a huge shop window for rural Devon, linking farmers and food producers with consumers.
The new President of the Devon County Agricultural Association John Parkin said it was a huge celebration of rural excellence and urged both town and country to support it.
The number of animals entered in the traditional livestock classes are all at their highest levels since the foot and mouth crisis three years ago.
