A man accused of murdering a north Devon teenager has appeared in court.

Charlotte Pinkney, who was 17 and from Ilfracombe, was last seen at the end of February.

At Exeter Crown Court on Thursday, Nicholas Rose, 22, from Foreland View in Ilfracombe, made no plea and was remanded in custody until June.

Despite an extensive police operation in the Slade Valley area of Ilfracombe, her body has not been found and searches are continuing.

Charlotte Pinkney was reported missing on 4 March, two days before her birthday, when she failed to contact her parents.

She was last seen leaving a party in Ilfracombe in the early hours of 28 February.
