Man charged with Charlotte murder

Charlotte Pinkney vanished a week before her 17th birthday

A 22-year-old man is due in court charged with the murder of Devon teenager Charlotte Pinkney.

Charlotte, 17, was last seen in Ilfracombe after being dropped off in the early hours of 28 February following a party.

The man, who is also from Ilfracombe, was arrested on Wednesday morning by officers investigating the case and was questioned for 36 hours.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Barnstaple.

Charlotte was reported missing on 4 March when she failed to make contact with her parents two days before her 17th birthday.

Police launched a murder hunt six days later, when her handbag was found near Ilfracombe.
