Residents meet over speedway plan

The Falcons have been seeking a new home since 2001
People living near the proposed site of a new speedway track in Exeter are to be given the chance to have their say.

Exeter Falcons speedway team announced last week that they are to submit plans to build a new track at the Westpoint showground near Clyst St Mary.

It includes a wheels centre for BMX, cycle speedway and road cycle racing.

A public meeting is being held at Clyst St Mary village hall at 1930 BST on Wednesday when the public will be able to question club officials.

The proposed track will be in the huge car park of the Westpoint facility and will measure 320 metres.

The Falcons have been seeking a new home since they were given notice in 2001 to quit their current County Ground home by landlords Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club.
