A man claiming to be Britain's oldest milkman celebrated his 90th birthday on Tuesday by doing his usual round.
Jack Moon was up at 0600 GMT to deliver 80 pints of milk around his home village of Ashwater in Devon.
His normal two-hour round took much longer as he was showered with cards
and gifts from customers.
"I got about 60 cards, many from people on the round," he said. "I was also given sweets, bottles of whisky and rum - I am a rum man."
Continued round
Mr Moon began helping deliver milk and other goods around the area with his
two brothers in the early 30s.
He said he began delivering full time when he came out of the Army in
1946.
Mr Moon said he continued with the round because "it gives me exercise and
keeps me fit".
"Who knows how long I will continue - as long as I am fit I will do it," he
said. "I need the exercise."
Mr Moon even drinks the milk he sees such a lot of each day - delivering
nearly 30,000 pints a year.
But he has been advised to drink the skimmed variety instead of the full fat he
prefers.
