Two men have died as a result of being crushed in two separate accidents.
One man was crushed after a tractor overturned on him.
The accident happened in a field at Christow, near Bovey Tracey, at about 1430 BST on Thursday.
In the other incident, a man died after an accident at a bank when he was crushed while helping to move a safe in Plymouth on Thursday afternoon.
Investigations start
He was helping to move a safe at Lloyds TSB bank in East Lake Street.
The unit then slipped, crushing him.
An investigation is now under way into the incident.
At the tractor accident, police, fire and ambulance crews were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said it was not known whether the victim was driving the tractor.
Officers are trying to contact his next of kin and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
